Located past Boca Raton, off A1A on 200 NE 21st Ave, is the Deerfield Beach Pier. There is metered parking along the waterfront, with more spaces on surrounding side streets.
Once you’re parked, the ideal places to paddle out are north of the pier (for a more advanced group of surfers) or at the “cool zone,” south of lifeguard tower #7 where the atmosphere and waves are more relaxed.
The best time to catch waves at Deerfield Beach Pier is when there is a strong southeast windswell.
What makes this particular surf spot unique is its sandbars created by the pier, which have the capability of shifting unpredictably and therefore cause variation in the waves.
It is also an award winning “Blue Wave” beach, meaning the water quality is clear and crystal blue year-round for the surfers.
