The Florida Board Riders was established as a 501c3 non-profit in 2020 by Dane Jefferys and has successfully light the flame of surf communities across the sunshine state while giving back to the sport that has given us as surfers so much.
The organization has consistently run series of events over the past 4 years titled #TheFloridaCup.
With 11 total clubs, the state is split into two divisions: 6 Clubs in the North Division and 5 Clubs in the south Division.
Each division has 3 qualifying events where their top two event scores go towards their overall total.
At the end of the season the top two teams from each division get invited to the Florida Cup championship, with the highest point totaled third place club also getting an invite.
ASM was at the event last year in Flagler Beach. Check out the recap video here:
This year The Florida Cup Championship presented by Fat Tire is scheduled for Saturday March 23rd at the Jacksonville Beach Pier.
After another epic year the qualifying teams are as follows: Jacksonville Board Riders, St Augustine Board Riders, New Smyrna Board Riders, Space Coast Board Riders and the Treasure Coast Board Riders.
Space Coast will look to repeat as a three-time champion and will have their work cut out for them as every team is thirsty to drink from the cup.
Side note- The first year 2020 is debatable as Jacksonville had two wins and space coast had two wins, hence both clubs claiming the title. Funny piece of history that will live on with all the other events.
Who will claim the cup this year?
Come root on your hometown or make it a family beach day & meet some new friends!
